The Parque de las Esculturas (Sculpture Park) is located in Punta Gorda, a beautiful residential area of Cienfuegos, at the end of the Malecón (seawall).
Created in 2007, it is made up of more than a dozen large sculptures made from different materials, techniques and styles. These high aesthetic value pieces will provide you with a seat while you enjoy art. The intention of the artists was to create art not to be adored, but to be used and to encourage reflection. In most of these creations, we can sense the maritime influence. Bronze hands of enormous proportions, benches with orange desks or a rhinoceros from its side creates a bench, are some of the striking figures that await you in this permanent performance of the center-south of Cuba.
The postmodernism of this park stands out among the neoclassical architecture of Cienfuegos, which gives it a modern and progressive look. A park that undoubtedly deserves to be visited, since it not only pushes us to contemplate the beauty and to reflect on the meaning of its reliefs, but it provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the outdoors and to be able to relax.
