In Remedios, and a block to the east of Martí Park is the old, elegant and colonial Teatro Rubén M. Villena (Rubén M. Villena Theater), with dance shows and children’s activities.

Its name come from the Cuban writer Rubén Martínez Villena, born in Alquízar, Havana. He began to write his first verses when he was 11, but soon after he gave up poetry to be a politician.

The program can be found on the theater box office, and tickets must be paid in Cuban pesos.
