The Boulevard of Ciego de Ávila is a modern promenade. It was opened to the public in December 2008 and encompasses a large section of Calle Independencia. Despite its contemporary style, it still manages to embrace Ciego de Ávila’s heritage through its eclectic architecture.
This promenade is characterised by its neoclassical columns, along with its lamps, jardiniers, pergolas, benches, green areas and galleries. Its abundance of beauty, architecture, and exterior art has made it one of the top tourist destinations in Ciego de Ávila. It should be highlighted that along the Boulevard there is a large variety of services: restaurants and cafes, a nightclub, video-game arcades, a craft workshop and a recreational centre.
