This is one of the favorite meeting points for lovers, poets, folk singers, philosophers and fishermen. The Malecón has a specially impassioned atmosphere when it is growing dark, as here you’ll be able to enjoy one of the best sunsets in the island.

The Malecón was designed as a small maritime promenade for the middle class in the first decade of 1900; but it was quickly extended towards the east in the following decade, leaving an eclectic architecture mixing the Neoclassical with Art Nouveau.

From 1950 the road Malecón of Havana has in total six ways, being one of the must-visit places in Havana. On it stands out its rich architecture, housing countless old buildings being restored.

During the summer nights Malecón offers an extraordinary atmosphere thanks to the carnival, where races, traditions, and non-stop troupe. It is a great party where the traditional sound of drums is mixed with modern reggaeton and salsa songs.

In this place are located some of the best hotels of Havana, like Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Riviera or Meliá-Habana.
